Xerox Publishes 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility Report

Xerox Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: XRX) today released its 2025 Global Corporate Social Responsibility Report, highlighting key achievements from 2024 and outlining future sustainability and technology initiatives that support the company’s Reinvention as a services-led, software-enabled company.

"This year’s CSR Report shows meaningful progress—from lowering our emissions to embedding AI and automation into solutions that help clients operate more efficiently and sustainably," said Steve Bandrowczak, chief executive officer at Xerox. "Our acquisition of Lexmark represents a major milestone in our sustainability journey, expanding our ability to deliver product innovations and tools that help reduce waste, support climate goals, and accelerate a low‑carbon future as we work toward net zero by 2040. While there is more to do, I’m proud of the advances we’ve made and grateful to our teams, clients, partners, and communities for helping us turn commitment into action."

Highlights from the 2025 CSR Report include:

Expanding Access to Enterprise-Grade AI: Xerox advanced its technology portfolio by delivering enterprise-grade AI, automation, and cybersecurity solutions, enabling clients of all sizes to modernize operations, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact through smarter, software-enabled services.
2024 Progress Toward Net-Zero Goals: Xerox reduced Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) by 59% from its 2016 baseline and cut Scope 3 emissions by 9.8% year-over-year.
Circular Economy Expansion: Xerox remanufactured over 1.7 million toner cartridges with 90% reuse by weight and diverted more than 600,000 metric tons of equipment, parts, and supplies from landfills since 2009.
Energy-Efficient Innovation: 100% of eligible new products launched since 2010 have earned ENERGY STAR® certification.
Community Impact: Xerox contributed over $1.38 million to global community initiatives and employees volunteered more than 35,000 hours to causes aligned with the company’s core values.

The integration of Lexmark strengthens the ability of Xerox to deliver solutions that help reduce environmental impact across the full print lifecycle. Xerox Recognized in Quocirca’s 2024 Sustainability Leaders Report

Xerox announced today that it has been named a leader in Quocirca’s Sustainability Leaders Report 2024 for the third consecutive year. This annual report analyzes how print vendors are tracking toward sustainability goals and reducing their environmental impact.

“Xerox remains committed to leveraging technology and services to drive workplace efficiency while helping clients improve their sustainability," said Terry Antinora, senior vice president and head of product and engineering at Xerox. “Through innovations like our Verified Carbon Neutrality Service and CareAR, we've maintained our position as a leader in the complete offering of sustainability-led products, services and solutions.”

As sustainability assessments have become critical to analyzing environmental impact across the printing industry, the report highlights Verified Carbon Neutrality Service as a stand-out in the market. Launched in September 2024, this service was developed to ISO 14068 carbon neutrality standard and includes independent verification, providing Managed Print Services clients with carbon footprint assessments, reduction planning support and carbon credits. Xerox is also actively using artificial intelligence to improve device performance and service quality. It is estimated that over 850 metric tons of CO2e have been saved with its remote services powered by AI and CareAR.

The report commended Xerox for its well-established circularity program, which incorporates design, manufacture, in-use, and end-of-life, as well as its channel engagement and certification efforts. Xerox has made completing its partner courses mandatory for participation in its main sales and incentives programs. This includes providing partners with campaign support and pre-sales engagement information to help shape client conversations around sustainability goals.

Xerox Publishes 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility Report

Xerox Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: XRX) today published its latest Global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, “Leading Responsibly,” highlighting the company’s 2023 accomplishments in workplace sustainability, community support and operational efficiency.

“This report underscores our advancements and accomplishments in environmental sustainability, societal responsibility, governance and innovation, and how we continue addressing ongoing clients’ challenges,” said Steve Bandrowczak, chief executive officer at Xerox. “It is also a reflection of the work across our dedicated teams and partners to ensure that Xerox positively impacts the individuals, companies and communities we serve, while contributing to a more sustainable future.”

Xerox continues to deliver on its net zero by 2040 roadmap. The company is on track to meet 2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) emission goals of 60% reductions in scopes 1 and 2 and a 35% reduction in scope 3 over the 2016 baseline and to meet its 2040 net zero goal.

Additional highlights from this year’s report include:

Innovation in Workplace Technology: Xerox continues to innovate with reliable print technologies and digital solutions that support clients’ sustainability goals. Over the past three years, CareAR has enabled remote issue resolution, improved uptime and reduced carbon emissions. In 2023, the company avoided 93,400 engineer site visits and over 850 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions through CareAR and AI-driven remote support.
Recognition for Sustainability and Inclusion: Xerox was named a leader in the 2023 Quocirca Sustainability Report and received the ENERGY STAR® 2024 Partner of the Year Award. The company also earned the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Equality 100 for the 21^st consecutive year, highlighting its commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Community Support: In 2023, Xerox invested over $2.4 million in the nonprofit sector, with employees volunteering more than 42,000 hours globally. The company’s annual two-month campaign, from Earth Day to June 30, encourages employees to support causes aligned with its focus areas: education, sustainability and building strong communities.

Xerox Introduces First Carbon Neutrality Service Verified to ISO Standard

Xerox today announced a new Managed Print Services (MPS) offering with the introduction of its Verified Carbon Neutrality Service. Developed to the ISO 14068 carbon neutrality standard and verified by an independent third party, this easy-to-use capability leverages global data and an intuitive dashboard, empowering clients to reduce, offset, and report their environmental impact.

According to Quocirca’s Sustainability Trends 2023 study, organizations are placing more scrutiny on their print suppliers, and 69% say it is important that their supplier helps them to measure the environmental impact of their print infrastructure. By providing a comprehensive assessment across a broad range of print devices, the new service enables organizations to gain better insights of the environmental impact across their print infrastructure life cycle – from raw materials and manufacturing to delivery, use, maintenance, and end-of-life management. The service also includes a carbon reduction plan utilizing initiatives such as print management, recycling and remote service.

Xerox Recognized in Quocirca’s 2023 Sustainability Leaders Report

Xerox announced today it was named a leader in Quocirca’s new Sustainability Leaders Report 2023. This annual report analyzes the print industry’s sustainability efforts and highlights organizations focusing on net zero, corporate sustainability and the offerings that minimize environmental impact and maximize the efficient use of resources for clients.

“Reducing environmental impact, as well as helping our clients do so, is a priority for the company,” said Tracey Koziol, executive vice president, Global Offering Solutions and Chief Product Officer at Xerox. “Our offerings innovate with artificial intelligence and augmented reality to improve operational efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint, enabling clients to meet their own sustainability goals as a result.”

Through leveraging artificial intelligence and augmented reality, Xerox is delivering sustainable innovation with the potential to mitigate global supply chain issues and reduce the world’s carbon footprint. For example, through CareAR^®, a Xerox company, experts can visually diagnose and solve client issues remotely, which reduces carbon emissions associated with dispatching a service technician to a site. In one year, CareAR has enabled Xerox to reduce client site visits by more than 57,000, avoiding more than 594 metric tons of CO₂ emissions.

Xerox has been rated as the strongest across the print industry for its completeness of offerings in this year’s report. This ranking includes the expansiveness of its product portfolio, remanufacturing and refurbishment capabilities, sustainability services, and recycling programs. More than 1.6 million Xerox toner cartridges were manufactured in 2022 using cartridges recovered through the company’s Green World Alliance supplies take-back program. Additionally, Xerox’s digital workflow solutions, including Xerox® Workflow Central and Xerox® Accounts Payable Services, was acknowledged for the ability to streamline clients’ paper-based processes, further progressing their sustainability goals.

Quocirca noted, “As well as a comprehensive sustainable technology portfolio of hardware-efficient devices (with increasing use of recycled materials), Xerox has among the broadest capabilities around sustainability-led managed print services. In partnership with PrintReleaf, Xerox offers a carbon offset program, as well as in-depth environmental assessments and advanced analytics to help clients reduce the environmental impact of their print infrastructure.”

Xerox Shares 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility Report

Xerox Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: XRX) today published its 2023 Global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report detailing Xerox’s continued CSR accomplishments and underscoring its continued pioneering leadership in delivering measurable environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact work.

“For more than 60 years, Xerox has made sustainability work—demonstrating that environmental stewardship and corporate social responsibility programs also lead to increased profits, improved employee engagement and great client satisfaction. As the world continues to fight climate change and identify ways to improve our collective societal well-being, we have doubled our CSR efforts and reignited our ESG initiatives,” said Steven Bandrowczak, Chief Executive Officer at Xerox. “While we recognize that our CSR work is never done, I am proud of our colleagues' commitment to building a more sustainable, equitable and inclusive future for all.”

To ensure Xerox and its more than 20,000 global employees understand their role in mitigating climate change, in 2022, 97% of employees completed Xerox’s Net Zero training. This ongoing initiative was designed to educate employees on the basics of climate change, the company’s plan to reduce emissions, and to communicate opportunities to participate in emissions reduction activities.

Additional highlights from this year’s report include:

For the past two years, we have differentiated the service experience through CareAR®, a Xerox company, allowing experts to visually diagnose and solve client issues remotely. This has resulted in improved uptime and reduced carbon emissions associated with dispatching a service technician to a client site. In one year, CareAR has enabled Xerox to reduce client site visits by more than 57,000, with more than 594 metric tons of CO₂ avoided as a result.
This year, Xerox conducted a third-party double materiality assessment with Business for Social Responsibility, which interviewed key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the company’s CSR strategies are centered around the most critical areas of focus and have the maximum positive impact on people and the planet. Through this assessment, high-priority material topics such as climate change, emerging technologies and ethics, and data privacy and responsible data use were identified, among others.
A new partnership with A Better Chance to create an endowment called the John Visentin Scholarship Fund, which has raised more than $450,000 to provide scholarships to A Better Chance scholars interested in pursuing a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.

Xerox remains focused on improving operational efficiency with key stakeholders across the value chain to continue tracking towards its net zero by 2040 goal. To ensure Xerox meets its commitments, the company is focused on implementing new third-party verifiable ESG reporting solutions enabling, better transparency and collecting comprehensive GHG data from across the enterprise.

Xerox Partners with the Arbor Day Foundation to Plant a Tree for Every Employee

In honor of World Environment Day, Xerox today announced a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant nearly 23,000 trees — one for each Xerox employee — contributing to the nonprofit’s global reforestation efforts while also educating employees on how they can make a meaningful difference for the environment. The partnership coincides with this year’s World Environment Day focus on the continuation of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, a global mission to revive billions of hectares, from forests to farmlands.

“Partners like Xerox help us achieve the scale needed to drive meaningful impact through trees," said Dan Lambe, chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation. “It’s going to take organizations of all types and sizes coming together to make a difference. We are grateful for their commitment.”

The Arbor Day Foundation has worked to plant nearly 500 million trees over the past 50 years through efforts that improve forests and communities of greatest need worldwide.

“Xerox has a long history of innovating for a better future – which includes a better future for our planet. We have a social responsibility to do what’s best for the environment, and we’re excited to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees and help spread greater awareness while doing our part to drive sustainability efforts,” said Michele Cahn, vice president of Global Government Affairs, Sustainability & Citizenship at Xerox. “In addition to the partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, Xerox is launching its own customized GHG reduction training program for all employees to ensure we remain at the forefront of driving to net zero by 2040.”

Reforestation efforts will take place in British Columbia, Canada; Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.; Community Forest Trust, U.K.; and Accion Andia, Andes Mountains.

With climate change being one of the defining issues of our time, Xerox has long believed that businesses play a critical role in protecting the health of the planet. Beyond its World Environment Day initiatives, Xerox outlined an aggressive net zero roadmap, which includes achieving its net zero goal by 2040, fast-tracking its target by 10 years. The company also announced it achieved ENERGY STAR® registration for 100% of eligible new products, and partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy on HVAC technology that could cut the energy consumption of air conditioners by up to 80%.

Xerox Tackles Environmental and Societal Challenges in 2021 Corporate Social Responsibility Report

Xerox Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: XRX) has published its 2021 Global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report detailing data, accomplishments, and goals adhering to the company’s work for society, governance and environmental impact.

“Xerox has a social responsibility to do what’s best not just for the company, but for people, the environment and society. Key parts of our corporate social responsibility strategy focus on how we can lessen our impact and our customers’ impact on the environment and help society—all while ensuring we govern ourselves in a manner that makes Xerox one of the most responsible companies in the world,” said John Visentin, Vice Chairman and CEO, Xerox. “The Xerox team accomplished so much over the last year, and I couldn’t be prouder of how our team members continue to find new ways to make every day work better for our customers, partners and communities.”

With climate change being one of today’s defining issues, the company fast-tracked its net zero goal by 10 years to 2040. This year’s report marks the first time Xerox is publishing its roadmap to net zero. The roadmap focuses on improving processes and energy efficiency, as well as designing environmentally responsible products and clean technologies. Specific examples include:

Achieving ENERGY STAR^®registration for 100% of Xerox’s eligible new products
Pioneering a new service experience platform from CareAR, a Xerox company, to enable enterprises to deliver better environmental, health, and safety results
Working with the U.S. Department of Energy on HVAC technology that could cut the energy consumption of air conditioners by up to 80%

Additional CSR highlights from the report include:

Increasing the diversity of Xerox’s Board of Directors to 40%
Executing on the company’s newly established Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging roadmap that is focused on building a diverse pipeline, partnerships, cultural changes, community outreach and accountability
Aiding in the COVID-19 response efforts by supporting frontline workers, manufacturing and donating single-use, low-cost ventilators and producing facemasks
Launching a new rewards program that allows employees to redeem $10 per volunteer hour, up to $500 per year, to donate to a non-profit of their choice

All environmental, societal, and governance initiatives published within the 2021 Global CSR Report stand alongside Xerox’s mission of upholding leadership in innovation and its Innovation with Impact program. This program led to Xerox’s recent partnership with the Naval Postgraduate School to aid in the adoption of 3D printing throughout the U.S. Navy. It also led to Xerox’s launch of Eloque™, a joint venture with VicTrack, a state-owned enterprise in Victoria, Australia, to commercialize PARC-developed IoT technology that remotely monitors the structural health of infrastructure assets, like bridges.

Xerox prepared the 2021 CSR report according to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Xerox 2018 Global Corporate Social Responsibility Report Showcases Commitment to Sustainability, Social Investment, Governance

Xerox (NYSE: XRX) published its 2018 Global Corporate Social Responsibility Report detailing the impact of the company’s sustainability efforts across operations in 160 countries.

Highlights from this year’s report include:

100 percent of newly launched eligible Xerox products satisfied the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT^®) and EPA ENERGY STAR^® eco-labels.
100 percent of products and parts returned by customers at end-of-life, diverted from entering landfills. Instead, we remanufactured, reused, recycled, or provided the waste to suppliers who converted it into an energy source.
Six percent of the U.S employee population are military veterans.
Nine percent of our total supplier spend is with small Tier I businesses, minority, woman or veteran-owned businesses.
Employees provided 91,000 hours to local community involvement projects.

Earlier this year, the company published the first ever 2018 Corporate Social Responsibility Progress Report, a data-driven and evergreen summary of goals and performance in the environment, social and governance categories. The progress report was created to enhance stakeholder communication and provide an easy to use reference that will provide real-time, updated data as well as goals for each category.

Xerox is announcing two new sustainability goals: reducing energy use by 25 percent and also by 2025, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 25 percent from the 2016 baseline.

The Global CSR report focuses on how Xerox is constantly innovating for sustainable services and products to improve productivity through new technologies that connect the physical and digital worlds without adversely affecting the environment, human health and safety. As an example, Xerox launched a program “You print one, we’ll plant one”; through a partnership with PrintReleaf, Xerox customers can reduce their overall environmental footprint and help global reforestation.

Annually Xerox looks at its approach and performance in corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities supporting social, economic and environmental dimensions. This report was prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, and aligns in part with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established in 2015.

FTSE4Good Index Series ranks Xerox in top for overall environmental, social and governance.

Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) is again ranked by the FTSE4Good Index Series, which measures the performance of companies demonstrating strong environmental, social and governance practices.

Xerox achieved a perfect 5.0 ranking in each of the environmental, social and governance categories and a 96 out of 100 for the overall environmental, social and governance (ESG) rating.

“Year in and year out, we ensure that Xerox has a sustainable environmental, social and governance strategy,” said Michele Cahn, vice president of Global Government Affairs, Sustainability & Citizenship for Xerox. “A robust ESG program makes good business sense and benefits our employees, customers, shareholders and the planet.”

The FTSE4Good index is administered by the Financial Times Stock Exchange, a unit of London Stock Exchange Group’s Information Services Division.

Xerox annually publishes its report on corporate social responsibility reinforcing the message that behaving responsibly as a global citizen is an inseparable part of the company’s heritage. The new corporate social responsibility report will be published online next month.
